Sunday School will be held every sunday after the Hold Qurbana. All members are encouraged to send their children to sunday school to help them with their spiritual growth.

SENIOR - GRADE 10, 11 AND 12

 

 Guidelines for Assigned Competitions 2011

1) Each Church should conduct the Assigned Competitions in their respective parishes under the guidance and supervision of the Sunday School Principal.

2) Best 2 pictures and essays in each category should be selected.

3) It will be greatly appreciated if the Principal can scan the pictures and (either type the essays or scan the essays) and email it to the competition coordinator on or before July 31,2011.

4) Date to conduct: According to the convenience of the respective Sunday Schools.  Time Limit: 45 minutes.

5) Each Essay or Drawing should have a cover page indicating the student name, Group #, Grade & Parish. If any drawing or essay has the name of the student or any identification mark on it, that one will be

disqualified.

6) Essays should be written using Black Ink Pen, Pencil written entries are not accepted.

7) No notes or other materials permitted for reference purpose neither for essay or drawing.

 A Brief Glossary

Our liturgy has been translated from the Malenkara, Syrian and Aramaic, and contains some words that are not in English. 

 

Here are some terms you may hear during the service, or that you may hear spoken by members:

 Achen - Priest or Father
 Episcopos   - Bishop
 Beskyomo(Kochamma) - Wife of the Priest
 Barekmor  - Bless me O Lord
 Kurielaison - Lord have mercy. (In Greek, Kyrie Eleison).
 Qurbana - The service at which we celebrate the Eucharist. There is no direct translation, but some meanings include offering, dedication,and sacrifice
 Stomen Kalos - Let us stand well 
 Morio rahem Melyn Uadaryn - Lord have mercy upon us and help us
 Subaho Labo Labro Vala Rooho Kadeesho Glory be to the Father,Son and the Holy Spirit
 Mena olam vada mela olam ol meena meen - As it was from the beginning and shall be for ever and ever Amen
